David has always been a part of the planning. While he is not into the budget, contract negotiations, he really cares about the details and design of it all. And rightly so. If you are choosing something that represents you as a couple, it would feel strange for it to be one person's vision.
As we were doing our final "tree table" list, David added one that made me tear up.
Me: So what next? We have one more table.
David: How about Maple Tree?
Me: We don't have any special connection to a maple tree...do we?
David: It's syrup that goes on your pancake addiction.
Me: But that's not you.
David: Of course it is. I make them for you because I love you.
Awww, such a sap!
