my baggage

i have a handful of vintage clutches but none seemed quite right for the wedding. i've been gravitating to velvet: soft, plushy, elegant and oh so rich looking.

as you may (or may not, i hope no one is keeping score) know our colors are blues, greens and bit of magenta or champagne. no purple. in fact i don't really like purple. or maybe i secretly do? my engagement party dress was purple? the makeup artist who did my make up for our epics put me in purple (after asking for greens). i had bookmarked this purse and thought "love. doesn't match"
a few days later "still love it. can i dye it?" and then "dang it. i want it"

here's my clutch, and then i'll tell you exactly why i was loving it so much:
when i was a kid my mother bought me a pair of lilac velour gloria vanderbilt pants. i wore them until you could see thread and my bare knees.

it's lilac. it's lovely and it matches me. done.
